my cup overflows this morning. Not only was there a spiritually inspiring pre dawn with the tree of life shaped like a cloud, silver sliver of a moon against the painfully rich indigo sky with the barest blush of brick red along the horizon (Venus was being stand offish) with Peter Gabriel's sensual rhythms pounding out of my stereo-
- Jessica D: Not only was there a gift of a caramel Macchacito on my desk when I got in
but the woman who I used to see riding her bike in every morning- till a few months ago when I saw her bike surrounded by fireman and she was no where to be seen- WAS BACK ON THE ROAD. All sassy in her black leathers and brunette braid! I was so happy to see her back in the saddle!!
And I just have to say that if you haven't sat and watched the sunrise with "14 black paintings" rumbling out your stereo- you are missing out. Seriously.
Lisha W: Awesome morning! I too enjoyed the glimpses of sunrise I got while getting ready this morning.
Angela V: I walked out to toss some stuff in the garbage bin and was stopped in my tracks by the brilliantly lit, apricot cloud poofs to the northeast. Stunning!April 4I was woken just a few minutes from my alarm this morning by the sonorous rumble of distant thunder. I went out to the balcony to watch the lighting play in the clouds like puppies just let out of the house, zipping back and forth or just chasing it's tail in wild circles, sometime just stamping down with a big bark only then to get back up and starting running round again. I was late to my workout. :)
April 5
It was a whimsical sunrise this morning as there was a whirl of pink cloud just at the horizon that looked much like the whirl of magic when a genie comes out of a bottle. I wonder who found the lamp?
April 6
The eastern skies had leviathan orangey pink salmon slow-motion leaping along the horizon at dawn this morning. Very showy and pretty... However to the west there was a soft romantic robin egg blue sky that had the most subtle gradation in to soft rose then back to blue, just soothing and delightful. I think there was a celestial graffiti artist trying to break in to the eastside gig...
April 7
though the morning was Dorian Grey- the radio was bound and determined to make sure it was painted with the neon pinks and greens of laughter and silliness. Among many other chuckles- Did you know that today in International Beaver day? The radio DJ's were encouraging us to celebrate the beaver today! I'm wondering if I should throw a party? Maybe find a beaver to paint bright happy colors? Give it a party hat? ;)
Have I mentioned I love where I work? A 72 year old Japanese man, no taller than a mite, just showed me how the Venetian Waltz is done- just by himself in our lobby. As graceful as any I've ever seen, full of joy. Where else could this happen?!
April 8
There was a low layer of concrete grey clouds, broken in to jagged pieces through which I could see a field of cotton balls that were shaded bright cream to delicate pink in this mornings sunrise.
April 11
This morning felt a bit like I was in a loony tunes cartoon- one where someone takes off running really fast and leaves a rooster tail of dust behind them? Perhaps it was a Greek cartoon as instead of dust it was a silver plume of cloud that came from a point to wash over the buildings and traffic across Frisco, the rising sun putting her silver filigree along the edges. (I'm guessing it was Hermes with a VIM)
April 12
This morning I saw a small wooded valley that was submersed in a thick white fog, the kind that zombies slowly shuffle out from. I was so busy thinking about the best way to get help if somehow my car mysteriously broke down and skidded the couple of miles off the road and in to the creepy zombie laden fog- that I missed the sunrise and a dear friend trying to get my attention on the 121...
April 13
before the apricot sun rose, while her eyes were still bruised with a smear of violet and a little red from lack of sleep, thin wispy clouds high in the atmosphere were lit blue white, startling against the pale morning sky. The shapes reminded me of white capped ocean waves on a windy day. Sigh... I miss the ocean.
April 14
I had a Harry Potter moment as I drove down the toll way, the lights in the section that I was driving in winked out- 3x in a row! I'd get through one in to the next and they'd wink out. It was fun. Then as I was driving by my work there was a round hole in the clouds along the horizon that a honey colored beam of light was shooting out of straight up to the grey sky! It's one of the strangest sights I've seen.
April 15
This morning the sun rose simply, without fanfare or or slight of hand behind some clouds. She rose bright- casting long shadows on the ground. It reminded me of walking to school as a kid, and playing with my long shadow with it's gangly arms and scarecrow legs. I would be jealous of it stretching out so far a head of me and I wanted to be _there_ already a half a block a head where my shadow was.
April 16
Think I'll start the morning with a hookah on my porch and dream of what I'm going to plant this year. (Other than the thyme I had to rescue from Market St.. poor guy was having a rough *time* of it there)
April 18
This morning walking out of the gym from my workout, the humidity just slapped a wet towel around my face and I nearly stumbled. Uggg... Welcome to springummer in Dallas. Not even 6am and though the sky was only just beginning to lighten, it was hot and sticky...
April 19
grey.
April 20
the skies this morning were as grey and thick as the smoke that would wreath around Cheech and Chong in their movies, keeping the morning mood mellow and easy... and man, the cops were freaking EVERYWHERE! Must be 4/20 ;)
April 21
The door to my balcony this morning opened up in to another world. I went out with my coffee to see if there was going to be a sunrise and I was transported to the middle of cloud. I was cloaked in a fine cool mist that softened the lights and hushed the crickets to a low purr. I am quite energized from the brief stay in a world between worlds. :)
April 25
bulbous clouds obscured the colors of the sunrise this morning... However I think someone said something as the clouds after a bit abashedly outlined their tops with white and pale apricot- kinda like a tom boy who is beleaguered into wearing a minimal amount of make up for a date. It was on only for a moment then scrubbed back to grey and darker grey.
April 26
this morning brought me a driving companion. A small lady bug had perched it's self on my windshield. I thought for sure once the car started moving it would have taken off, however he stayed for nearly the whole trip in. Zipping down the 121, it was hunkered down and I could hear the theme of Hawaii 5-O going in the background. I think he was having the time of his life. ( I think this one has the most "likes" of any I have done to date)
April 27
I think the sun has just about had it. He threw out some screaming yellow, his arms in a big Y as he rose above the horizon defeating the attempts of the clouds to hide his rising. Take that! harumph.
April 28
I sat out on the balcony to watch the sunrise this morning (I am really proud of my self for making the time to do so) and it was so worth it. There is a drainage ditch that runs in front of the 'plex and this morning the water changed colors three or four times, reflecting the blue, peach, pinks and liquid silver of the sky.
We were talking to our apt. manager about how we are planning to move to Colorado. She looked at us with deep concern and says "You know, they are *very* liberal out there in Colorado. You may want to think about that before you move. *Very* liberal." I NOT giggle snort at her ( a feat I consider worthy of an academy award) I was able to just nod and say "Oh? That's... something to consider"
April 29
the sunrise parfait layers of pink, rose and blues had a shiny crescent moon hanging a bit high on the horizon. The magical part was while the sky was still a bit full of night three ducks flew past me in to the sunrise -against the silver moon. Spielberg would have dumped the footage for being to contrived. It was loverly.
